Travel | Dec 13, 2017

WHERE TO STAY:

The Modern Honolulu Sleek, stylish and with the perfect dose of Hawaiian hipness, The Modern Honolulu is vacay goals. With THE restaurant to eat at, four bars, a nightclub and tropical garden, you’ll be in your own heaven. Free wifi? Tick. Flatscreen TV, iPod dock and iPad? Tick. Gym & luxurious spa? Tick. The best pools in Hawaii? Tick. We recommend the Ocean Front Suite, room 911 baby. Trust us.

WHERE TO GO:

The North Shore – the surf mecca, basically like living the Blue Crush dream, bulletproof coffee from the sunrise shack, checking out the surf at pipe and having lunch at the authentic food trucks opposite Sunset Beach. Waimea Bay to check out the waves and get some sun. Oh and Pokè from Foodland is amazing.

Haleiwa – amazing low key markets, cool and quirky shops and world famous Haleiwa Bowls (Acai bowls).

Waikiki – total Hawaii vibes! Getting into the kitsch vibes of the island. Touristy but loads of fun. Be sure to check out the vintage Hawaiin shirt stores for all the little trinkets and Hawaii necessities.

WHAT TO DO

Your Vitamin Sea Fix = Waikiki Beach

Chill, kick back and let the sun colour your skin, at one of THE most Insta worthy beaches going round. Two miles of golden sandy shores, bustling with colourful locals and travellers alike. The place for lazy long days in the sun and moonlight swims under the stars. If you’re feeling your wild side needs a little love, take a surf lesson with one of the island’s instructors. You may just find yourself with a bronzed date for the night too. “What happens on holiday…” 😉

Hawaii itself is a visual feast. So many incredible sights to see, but a few of our favourite insta worthy gems include;

WHERE TO EAT

Orchids at Halekulani's is where it’s at, serving Sunday brunch like no other. The menu touches on flavours of coastal Italian regions, in an elegant but relaxed, Ocean front setting. https://www.halekulani.com/dining/orchids-restaurant.

Wanting to take it up a notch? Nobu is the answer. Chef Nobuyuki Matsuhisa’s menu is influenced by every city he has lived in. Japan, Peru, Argentina and even the far reaches of Alaska. The result? You have to taste for yourself. - https://noburestaurants.com/

Who’s serving the drinks? Lei Lei’s Turtle Bay (http://www.turtlebayresort.com). Open-air & without a care, this is the place to kick back in the evenings. We can’t go past the Ahi Poke for a light dinner, with cubed fresh local caught tuna, a soy-sesame marinade, onions and chilies. What todrink? Lei Lei’s signature Classic Mai Tai. You can say ‘maholo’ to us later. Also check out....

If bikinis are our religion, Hawaii is our bible. So babe, flaunting a smokin’ high cut bikini on Waikiki Beach is-a-must. Our Billabong x INC 10 piece capsule collection of high cuts + bright tangerine hues, was inspired by this tropical paradise & will totally complete your vacay sizzle.

After sun: Maui babe after sun lotion

Bikini: We lived in our 90’s collab with Billabong – super bright, super comfy and so on-trend for Hawaii vibes

Towel: we LOVE the art inspired towels from SlowTide

Hat: The Pink Velour Lack of Color Boater

A positive attitude and respectful Aloha vibes for the Hawaiian people and this will guarantee you a good time.

WHEN TO GO

The right time is always NOW! Hawaii really is beautiful all year round with temps averaging 20-30 degrees for the whole calendar. For a little less hustle, hit up mid-April to mid-June or September to mid-December.

A hui hou babe! x
